DESCRIPTION: Grange & Betout a Paris, inverted lyre clock, rosewood veneered case with light wood inlays and moldings, top with gilt shell and leaf form ornament, gilt beaded bezel, Roman numeral silvered dial with engine turning, blued steel Breguet style hands, lyre form pendulum swinging above the dial and behind lyre strings, 8 days, time and strike, pendule a Paris movement signed "Grange & Betout A Paris", c1860
CONDITION: Case with with minor abrasions, minor veneer losses, one light wood molding replaced where lyre joins base-rt side, gilding with minor loss, Dial with very minor discoloration to silvering, and with repainted numerals (well done), minute hand replaced, movement ticks and strikes (but will need service for reliable operation), crutch replaced. Has interesting and well made lyre form pendulum. Overall an interesting and attractive piece. Ht 22 1/2"
